Website Instructions
Once you’ve logged in to RegattaCentral (login at top right of the webpage), to register as a volunteer with the umpire committee:
- Navigate to the “umpire” volunteer registration tiles (tiles are in alphabetical order). You will note there are three impactful positions where we need volunteers: Umpire Support (Equipment Transportation), Umpire Support (Personnel Transportation), and Umpires. To understand the differences between these roles, please visit the “About Us” page on our microsite.
- Select the tile corresponding to your desired volunteer role, click on the “PIN unlock” button at the bottom left of the tile.
- Enter PIN: 3912, click “submit.”
- Paying close attention to the different dates and shifts available, please select the cart icon beside the date/time for which you wish to volunteer.
- As you select and add a shift, a screen pop-up will appear indicating the shift you selected, and you can indicate if you want to add more shifts or complete the application. Additionally, you will see it added to your “cart” at the top of the screen (click the drop-down arrow to view your cart).
- Once you have selected all the shifts you are interested in, complete the process by going to the “checkout” screen – click the drop-down arrow next to your cart at the top of the screen and click the orange “checkout” button.
- You will receive a pop-up confirming you are ready to submit your application where you will select, “Yes.”
- On the next page you will complete your Application Form. This form may be pre-filled with previous information, please review and update as needed. Note: there are 3 areas that cannot be edited as they are specific to your RegattaCentral account (Name, Phone Number & Email) however you will see a separate question for phone number on Regatta weekend. Please make sure this is updated with your cell phone where you can be reached during the Regatta. Please do NOT record your home phone number in that field or we will be unable to reach you during the regatta.
- Once all required information is complete, click on the orange “Submit.”
- The next page brings you to the dashboard showing the status of shifts you request. You will receive an email when your application to each shift is accepted or denied.
Details regarding HOCR COVID-19 guidelines are outlined on the HOCR website (https://www.hocr.org/covid-guidelines/). When registering on RegattaCentral, you will be required to attest that you are fully vaccinated or will be fully vaccinated by Regatta weekend.
When asked about your years of volunteering experience with the HOCR, this is specific to volunteering with any of the regatta committees (umpires, cycling, river control, etc.) and is not referring to racing or experience with other regattas.
If you are having technical difficulties when registering, please contact the RegattaCentral support team for assistance. If you are receiving an error message, please provide a screenshot of the error so they can help troubleshoot.
We are thrilled to be planning for this year’s racing and we hope to see you in October!
