As we get closer to regatta weekend, a few updates:

Umpire Training Overview – check out the “Umpire Training” page on this microsite where you’ll find our 2021 training module that outlines specific responsibilities and also provides background to racing at the Head Of The Charles. Videos and questions embedded in the presentation will help clarify the content. We request that all umpires, regardless of previous experience, complete the training module and questions. As you review the material, if you have any questions, please send to umpires@hocr.org. We will compile and summarize all questions to be covered during our preparation calls in mid-October and/or our Friday meeting.

Umpire Preparation Conference Calls – coming up soon! You’ll find calendar invites with accompanying zoom links in previous communication (email subject line: 2021 HOCR – Welcome Umpires! Thank you for Volunteering!). Please use those calendar invitations to join whichever call best suites your schedule; material covered will be the same across each.

• Wednesday, October 13, 7:30pm-8:30pm ET all umpire review followed by lead umpire specific review 8:30pm-9:15pm.
• Thursday, October 14, 7:30am-8:30am ET all umpire review followed by lead umpire specific review 8:30am-9:15am.
• Friday, October 15, 12pm-1pm ET all umpire review followed by lead umpire specific review 1pm-1:45pm.

Premium sizing confirmation – please use the survey link you received via email to confirm your size option (email subject line: 2021 HOCR – Umpire Next Steps Training and Preparation). We have men’s and women’s sizing available. Please complete the survey no later than October 12. We won’t be able to accommodate changes to size requests after that date.
